This project, undertaken in late 2019-early 2020, was to design a cute mascot for a business. The client had seen my Namazu artworks and liked the cute style, and wanted something similar. however a namazu I ruled out myself as those are essentially fan art.
I had the business logo for thematic inspiration (it is crescent-shaped and swirly) as well as color reference (specific grays and pink).

This artwork is essentially a progress report, with descriptions in image captions.
Initial concept idea sketches, selection of one, color variant testing, finalized mascot, and one of the many GIF assets I made utilizing the mascot and the logo for the business to use in marketing.
